Queen Boko Palace has been used as a palace from the 8th century by Rakai Panangkaran, before Borobudur and Prambanan temple was created. Although it is call as a temple, this complex is not a worship place like Prambanan or Borobudur. There are buildings like fort gate, bathing place, pool, shelter, Pendopo, and fortress walls that usually found in the architecture of a palace in general.

The complex site is approximately 25 hectares and located at heights of about 195 meters above the sea level. The location of Ratu Boko Palace complex we’re above the hills makes us questioning.
